Engagements

Different situations.
Different leadership work.

Begin with the problem the property needs a senior leader to address, then determine the appropriate role and scope.

Assignment situations

Which situation
best describes yours?

An unexpected leadership vacancy

A department is operating without its usual decision-maker. Identify the decisions awaiting approval, immediate service risks, upcoming commitments and team members carrying additional responsibility. The brief should separate essential continuity from work that can wait.

A planned leadership transition

An outgoing executive, incoming appointment or ownership change creates a defined handover window. Establish what knowledge needs to transfer, which relationships require continuity and who owns the work between appointments.

An opening or brand transition

Recruitment, training, systems, operating procedures and brand requirements may move on different timelines. Clarify the leadership gap and the milestones within the assignment’s authority. A task force brief should identify the workstream, rather than simply name the overall project.

A department that needs focused attention

A recurring service issue, incomplete operating routine or commercial handover may require experienced leadership. Start with the evidence, the underlying constraints and a realistic time horizon. A short assignment cannot resolve every structural issue.

Specify the discipline.
Then the priorities.

Examples below help frame a Director-level or higher inquiry. They describe operating needs to discuss, not a list of currently available agents.

Rooms & operations

Room readiness, housekeeping and front-office coordination, service recovery, departmental routines and escalation ownership. Useful context includes the property’s service model, room inventory and current operating constraints.

Food & beverage

Outlet and banquet commitments, production and service coordination, team scheduling, cost visibility and the operating standards the department must uphold. Include the scale and complexity of the operation.

Sales, revenue & commercial leadership

Account and group-business continuity, pipeline ownership, pricing responsibilities and coordination among sales, marketing and revenue management. Specify who controls which commercial decisions.

Finance or broader property leadership

Reporting deadlines, approval authority, management-company interfaces and the responsibilities attached to the senior role. Define the required hospitality experience and systems familiarity before discussing a match.

Turn the situation
into a useful brief.

Share the leadership role, property context, timing and three priorities that matter most.
